Whether you’re touching clay for the first time or looking to refine your technique, these 6 weeks will help you go beyond the basics.
All clay, tools, and glazes will be provided, as well as access to kiln firings.
The Syllabus
Week 1: You’ll start by throwing foundational cylindrical shapes like cups and mugs.
Week 2: Move beyond the cylinder. We’ll focus on shaping bowls and how to manipulate clay to create unique silhouettes.
Week 3: Trimming & Handle Making
Week 4: Practice throwing more forms of your choice with hands on guidance
Week 5: Trimming, Surface Design & Carving This week is dedicated to texture, sgraffito, underglaze painting, and carving techniques to make your pieces one of a kind.
Week 6: Glazing You’ll learn proper application and layering techniques and access to food safe and non food safe glazes of your choice.

More time on the wheel, throwing, trimming, and glazing. As well as a dedicated week to applying surface design (carving, underglaze painting, etc) to your pots.

This 6 week course is designed to help move you beyond the basics and dive deeper into the world of ceramics.
I also teach pairs! This is a great option if you and someone else want to stick to the same schedule together.
